Benoit Potvin: Discussion Style Podcast Where the Host Will Discuss Various Topics With Professionals (French Language)

Executive Summary

Curious people can find the information they want by searching for it all over the internet. The problem is that this information is often not clear or summarized by people with little experience. To remedy this, we propose to create a discussion style podcast where the host will discuss various topics with professionals in their field or people who have primary experience. We will differentiate ourselves by our range of topics and our diversity of guests.

Mission and Vision

We want to satisfy people’s curiosity. To do this, we will interview interesting professionals and people with primary experience. Our short term goal is to improve the production of the podcast and to introduce the video aspect. Our medium term goal is to execute a web marketing strategy to promote the podcast. Our long term goal is to introduce sponsors of substance, responsible and that reflect our values: honesty, curiosity and open-mindedness.

Biography of the founder

Benoit Potvin was born in 1994 in Hull, Quebec. He was a model young student. He had, and still has, respect for his teachers, his colleagues and his studies. At a very young age, he developed an interest in swimming, water and lifesaving.

His first job was with the City of Gatineau as a lifeguard. Within a few years, he obtained his lifeguard certification and taught the basics of lifesaving and first aid to more than 200 candidates. Over the next few years, he will volunteer to teach English in Peru.

It is during this action that Benoit meets different people and this opens his mind. After a few formative years, Benoit will leave the city of Gatineau to pursue a podcast project with the Carrefour Jeunesse-Emploi de l’Outaouais youth volunteer program.

After 2 years of work, he decided to put this project aside to pursue his travel bug. He will go teach in Jiaxing, China and will use this opportunity to do market tests. Then, in 2020, he will return to Quebec to register his business. Passionate about teaching, he shares his knowledge in content creation with businesses and entrepreneurs.

If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?

Focus on a project that makes you happy and go for it.

What problem does your business solve?

Image problems. We have all these companies doing their best to stay relevant and sometimes having an external eye to come in and help build a reality that’s satisfactory to all is welcomed.

What is the inspiration behind your business?

Honestly, jealousy, I saw what others had and I wanted it for myself. I, for sure, did not expect it to be this much work. Yet again, here we all are doing the best we can to make things work.

What is your magic sauce?

My instinct. That’s all there is to it. I give myself fully into everything that I do and it allows me to speak my mind truthfully.

What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?
