Claurete offers handcrafted fine jewelry pieces with unique styles, executed one by one using quality materials, technology, care, and excellence. The designs are influenced by the latest jewelry trends while maintaining the luxury, essence, and simplicity of our designs.

Tell us about yourself?

My name is Carla Kabbabe, Founder of Claurete Jewelry, I founded my company back in 2018 while pursuing my Bachelors of Commerce degree at Ryerson University.

Prior to my studies, I watched my family operate in the industry. You can say, business and fashion have had a great and direct impact on me while growing up.

My company Claurete however, was not established until I realized how much I wanted to offer luxurious and unique jewelry with ease of wear. Specifically, to those with a busy lifestyle who want to look good without limiting themselves to jewelry pieces that would “get in the way”.

We are in 2022 right now, and let me tell you, the learning never stops. It is a journey that I am proud to continue taking on.

If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?

Plan for the unforseen. Walking into a new role of founding a new company for the first time, I was too optimistic. Given what I know now, I would go back and tell myself to have a contingency plan. Perhaps my opinion at the moment is influenced by pandemic and COVID-19.

I can definitely say there has been a lot of learning since the major global pandemic took place and influenced all of us, so if I could go back in time, I would plan for the unpredictable.

That said, it does not mean that a person should stop pursuing their goals once challenges rise. Goals may take longer to achieve, but that does not mean one should give it all up due to one (major) bad incident.

What problem does your business solve?

At Claurete, we aim to fill the gap that exists in the current jewelry industry. We listen to our customers, we test the products before launching them. Specifically, our jewelry is meant to be worn by those who look for quality unique pieces with ease of wear.

What is the inspiration behind your business?

Claurete was born to make a change and to create jewelry with unique designs that customers can enjoy every day due to the ease of wear.

What is your magic sauce?

Competition is expected. I know many respectable and honourable people in the industry, we all have something unique to offer. At Claurete, we are known for the simplicity and the uniqueness of the brand.

We also love chatting with our clients at every chance we get, as it gives us an opportunity to learn more about our customers and their needs.

What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?

My goal is to continue learning by keeping up with the latest trends in the industry. I also look forward to having Claurete receive a global recognition. Finally, I hope to inspire women in business and young entrepreneurs to pursue their dreams.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?

My biggest challenge has to be pandemic and COVID-19, without any doubt. We have had to pivot, we relied heavily on pop-ups and other short term fashion events. These were all paused during the course of pandemic, so we had to get creative and push the online initiatives instead.

How do people get involved/buy into your vision?

We have been fortunate as a few major venues have reached out to us about opportunities to collaborate. When it is the right fit, opportunities get established. People can reach out to us on our website or email for opportunities.
