Chuck Rees: Digital Marketing Company That Aims To Be Just as Innovative and Agile as the Startups We Serve

First off, hello to all the Canadian founders out there! Nuflux Media is a digital marketing company that aims to be just as innovative and agile as the startups we serve.

It’s a noisy world, so you always need to find novel ways to stand out online. And that’s precisely what I help businesses to do: turn heads.

Tell us about yourself?

I’ve always loved creating, whether through music, art, code, or producing media.

It’s that creativity that appealed to me about marketing. However, what keeps me coming back is the strategy, operations, and the ability to move the needle to put brands on the map.

If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?

Think bigger, and put more emphasis on offence! That way scaling up comes as a natural progression of that vision.

When you’re a founder with limited resources it’s easy to become the architect of your own limitations. Approach everything in a manner that is conducive to growth.

What problem does your business solve?

Startups that approach their marketing like a big corporation need to rethink that. They’re in a unique position to take greater risks creatively (for bigger wins), and to experiment.

Nuflux Media has the strategic, creative and operational know-how to make emerging brands thrive.

What is the inspiration behind your business?

When I started my business in 2007, I was part freelance designer and part internet entrepreneur. It wasn’t until 2012 that I developed Nuflux Media as a brand and had greater ambitions for it. It became clear that the internet marketing I did for my own ventures made me uniquely capable to serve other early stage companies.

Gary Vaynerchuk’s success with VaynerMedia showed me what is possible. I felt there was space for a Toronto-based marketing agency that is entrepreneurial and lives and breathes the internet.

What is your magic sauce?

Nuflux excels at recognizing growing trends and unpacking why it’s resonating with people. That’s the broad view you want to gain, as chasing and copying trends can cause you to lose the plot. We apply the unique vision that’s appropriate for the brand to what their audience is already responding to.

What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?

When Toronto’s startups want a fresh perspective and new approach to their digital marketing, I want them to think of Nuflux Media as the best way to get it.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?

Quite frankly, the pandemic. It’s provided its fair share of advantages to internet-based businesses as well.

How do people get involved/buy into your vision?
