If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?

I would advice to myself to start podcasting 2 years ago. So far it has been a great experience interviewing people. I currently hold weekly Video & Audio Podcasts under name of Car Biz Insider.

What problem does your business solve?

We solve the complacency problem in the businesses. Even if you are a successful business, there is always room for growth and if you don’t constantly evolve your business, you will eventually have diminished net profit and customer service.

What is the inspiration behind your business?

I came from automotive retail and every place I have worked so far, my focus was improving the business.

Most of the businesses run with “Don’t rock the boat” principal, and they don’t value their employees making these improvements as they are not ready for change. I found out that Consultants get paid to “Rock the boat” .

As soon as I figured it out, I wanted to become a consultant. If I can change one thing in business life, I would make businesses focus on continuous improvement as their principal goal.

What is your magic sauce?

I only focus on real, tangible data. All decisions, suggestions, and improvements are based on real life data. Never focus on cooker cutter approach and fully understand the fact of every car dealership is unique.

Competition only focuses on data to prolong their business relationship with the client, we only focus on data that makes our client more successful. If the time comes to end our relationship because we have completed our job, nothing is wrong to that.

What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?

We would like to have at least 100 dealerships as clients in Canada and USA thus we can start doing our Group 20 performance meetings.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?

In the past tons of so-called consultants, gurus and experts took advantage of the car dealerships, it sometimes makes it difficult to get the audience you need to acquire clients. Especially when some dealerships staff is threatened by our existence.

They act as gatekeepers and one thing they don’t understand is, we don’t have a hidden agenda to take their jobs. The Guidance and assistance we provide them only helps them to become profitable, thus they get paid more.

Majority of the dealership employees are on performance based numeration, therefore dealership make more money means bigger pay cheque.
