Tell us about yourself?

I am an IT Project Manager. I moved to Canada 4 years back. I am a vegetarian. As I explored Canada, I was mesmerised with its beauty. However, when traveling, I couldn’t find a lot of vegetarian, healthy and tasty options. I thought there is a gap in Canadian market that I can help fulfil. So, I decided to create something for vegetarian people like me, who can munch on something delicious, guilt-free, while traveling.

If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?

I would tell myself to listen to my intuition more and fear nothing.

What problem does your business solve?

Many times, I find vegetarian, healthy but not delicious options. Other times, I find vegetarian, delicious options that are no necessarily healthy. I am trying to create a healthy, delicious dry snacking option for vegetarian people like me.

What is the inspiration behind your business?

I thought there is a gap in Canadian market that I can help fulfil. So, I decided to create something for vegetarian people like me, who can munch on something delicious, guilt-free, while traveling.

What is your magic sauce?

I am original. I am not imitating others. My dry snacks recipe is fresh, home-made, tried and tested with friends and family. It is going to be without any additives, taste enhancers or artificial ingredients.

What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?

My vision for the next 5 years is to create a line of snacking products that are vegetarian, super-healthy and super-delicious. The healthy vegetarian snacks that families including kids consume regularly with any guilt.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?

The biggest challenge has been to find the manufacturers and the suppliers. The big companies don’t want to work with the start-ups like me. They only work with very large orders. But I have been persistent and been able to crack this challenge and turned this into an opportunity to learn the basics and the processes to connect with different people in the game.
