Tell us about yourself?
I am Kevin Huynh. I got my first computer at 10 years old and fell in love with it. I’ve been building websites, forums, coding PC games since I was 15 years old. I’d always had a entrepreneurial mindset at a young age but was never embraced or even noticed as I thought it was “normal” until I reached adulthood. I’ve used all my skills and talents developed at a young age and started a business after I graduated college and never looked back, it was the best decision for my future self.
If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?
I would advice my young self to start taking business seriously, especially bookkeeping and accounting side of business. I would also advice myself to build a standard operating procedure for all departments in the business. If time travel was possible I would not change a thing or I would have not learned or became the man I am today.
What problem does your business solve?
iigears.com solve problems with personalized warm and comfy apparel. Most apparel companies and brands do not offer customized prints for jackets.
What is the inspiration behind your business?
My biggest inspiration in starting iiGears was building a great apparel brand tailored for each customer.
What is your magic sauce?
Our “magic sauce” is offering customized designs for each customers. The main magic is our marketing strategy, with our marketing team with over 10 years of combined experience we are able to maintain and increase our brand awareness on social media.
What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?
In the next 5 years I want iiGears to be a well known print on demand company. I also see the company opening our first physical location in a mall. We would love to work with artists and fashion designers taking our brand to the next level.
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?
One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced was paid advertising. We generate most of our leads through paid ads. One of our platform changed the way they measured and showed ads which majorly impacted our revenue. However, we always find a way and adapted with other platforms and programs.
How do people get involved/buy into your vision?
We would love to work with artists and fashion designers.
