Rosor is an airborne geophysical surveying company that provides insight into underground deposits for mineral exploration. We aid miners and prospectors in their search for their coveted resources. We do so with custom drone systems in combination with specialized sensors for high-resolution data capture to more accurately inform miners’ drilling targets. Tell us about yourself

I’m passionate about solving the world’s most challenging problems and leading teams to develop automated solutions for them. We’re living in a time where the world’s mineral supply does not meet demand. With years of experience leading teams and research groups in the drone space, we’re able to bring to life the flying sensors that can uncover the mineral deposits needed to meet that demand.

Our co-founding team met through drone system research and development projects and eventually won a national competition in Canada together. Naturally after years of drone system engineering, we evaluated where the tech was and how it could be improved to affect the biggest change for the better. After investigating different industries, we found that there was a lot of potential in the mining industry, a place where these systems could make an immediate impact.

Right now, high-resolution aeromagnetic and topographic surveys are happening. Our systems go beyond the regular survey size and gain multiple datasets at once for fully constrained and integrated mapping. Future systems will continue to fly even further and carry any and all sensors. Our vision for the future is to provide prospectors with the most effective airborne tools available to minimize their discovery time as much as possible.

If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?

Have conversations with more people and make them aware of what Rosor does. Most people we talk to in the space are greatly interested and have a need for our systems once they gain a full understanding and realize the benefits over other methods.

What problem does your business solve?

In the early stages of mineral exploration, prospectors essentially drill in and take samples of the ground to locate different resources. In order for them to take samples of the right areas, we use sensors of all types whether it be magnetic, electromagnetic, LiDAR, radiometric and so on in combination with airborne drones to pick up signs where their resources of interest may be present. With higher resolution systems than traditional methods, we can more accurately pinpoint anomalies and map the areas that prospectors should be drilling and sampling to find their resource of interest.

In a world suffering from a shortage in critical minerals, miners need to meet demand and produce the ingredients of tomorrow for a sustainable future. We help them do so by locating mineralization and their future mining sites with clean tech. Our certified pilots and crew members service miners with drone systems that fly further, carry more sensors simultaneously, and emit less GHG emissions to provide more insightful data all while reducing scope 3 emissions.

What is the inspiration behind your business?

Rosor’s mission is to maximize discoveries by utilizing the highest levels of survey data acquisition, processing, and interpretation methods possible.

What is your magic sauce?

That’s easy – our team. With a great team of problem solvers, every challenge is just a puzzle waiting to be solved and it’s only a matter of time until it is. Every great technology or successful operation starts with the people developing or undertaking them. Especially in a startup company, having the right solution focused team makes realizing the end goals possible.

What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?

Over the next five years, the plan for Rosor is to provide miners and prospectors with airborne geophysical surveying that sets a new data standard for the industry while reducing GHG emissions. With automated and green airborne platforms that can capture higher quality data and reduce costs, prospecting can yield more actual discoveries in a quicker timeframe.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?

Our team has taken on custom drone solutions engineering projects of all types across different platforms to fit multiple industries’ needs from aeromagnetic for mining, infrared solar farm surveillance for energy sectors, to delivery systems for emergency response and healthcare, our team has the experience to develop and operate whatever it takes.

Our latest developments for mining have been aeromagnetic and radiometric platforms: a vertical takeoff and landing fixed wing (VTOL) and a large multirotor. The VTOL fixed wing was mainly for longer range aeromagnetic operations to cover wider areas while the large multirotor is used to output multiple data types simultaneously.

It’s difficult to choose the biggest challenge since we always to push the boundary on each project. They’re all difficult just in their own way.

How do people get involved/buy into your vision?

Consult with our team and discuss your airborne geophysical and topographic surveying needs for your exploration projects. Whether it’s magnetic, electromagnetic, LiDAR, or radiometric data you’re looking for, we have different solutions that fit your needs. You can contact one of our consultants at info@rosor.ca or directly book a free consultation from this link https://www.rosor.ca/booking-calendar/consultation?referral=service_list_widget where they will meet with you to gain a full understanding of what you’re looking for, your project, and its goal to pair you up with the right solution for you.

Our team is fluid, working to provide the solution that’s best, not work only with tools that are readily available. To take your solution to next level, we’ll develop the tools you need for the optimal data output and analysis you require.
